shh-dont-tellHello, you yummy reader, you. Thanks for dropping in to read my silly blog. I just love that you’re here, reading… Have I told you that? LOVE IT. Truly, I do.

I sure hope you keep on reading, and enjoying what you read.

But really, there’s no need to let me know how you feel either way. Especially since you won’t be able to. That’s because I have turned off all comments.

Yes, fellow bloggers, I know: comments are the lifeblood of a blog. Proof of life that people out there in the big, blue, beautiful world are actually reading this stuff – and taking time out of their amazing day to let me know how they felt about what I wrote.

Honestly, I DO recognize the gifts these comments are… the validation I seek as a blogger.

But the problem is that I rely far too much on them.
And I am distracted by them in not very good ways.
They are affecting what I write. And (more importantly) do not write.
Too much, I’ve decided.

What if someone comments that they disagree with me?

What if someone comments that my writing sucks?

What if NO ONE comments?

What if someone comments ABOUT how no one is commenting?

Oh, pulleeeeze!
I am pathetic!
I’ve been thinking about this for months, and today is the day when it feels perfectly right.

I need to be less of a blogger, and more of a writer.

It’s my hope that this will allow me to focus more on writing. And – hopefully – you to focus more on reading.

And if you really wanna take the time to tell me what you think, there’s always Facebook. Or email
